Quotations Taken From a Survey Completed by Parents

"**** was so engaged.  He talked about it every night and would do more research at home.  His love for learning has developed into something amazing.  He is always wanting to research everything from hockey players to halibut.  He has grown a great deal of confidence in his education and discussions with other people.  I think that it was a great idea and really makes the kids feel like learning is fun!"

"She started asking questions and became more curious."

"My child found it hard to work in a group and found it easier to work on her own.  Having said that, she would enjoy doing this type of project again.  She gained a sense of confidence as well.  I believe this has been a very positive, creative learning experience for this grade.  I definitely saw her love of learning grown.  Since this experience she has become curious about the study of ******** and has documented some facts at home."

"I see her becoming very focused on learning and being very creative and expressive and passionate."

"***** was very engaged in the process as I never had to ask her to work on it.  It was the first thing out of her backpack, and she would look for facts on her own and enjoyed colouring and drawing the pictures in her spare time.  She enjoyed showing everyone at home what she was doing.  She seemed to really love that she could find something she was interested in and know what to do to find out all about it.   It think she liked being able to find out information independently.  I am so happy they have had this opportunity.  It helps foster the love of learning while giving kids some control over their learning too.  ***** really enjoyed having that opportunity.  Thank-you!"

"In the beginning I found random papers with drawings and information.  Usually these said "Inquiry" at the top."

My child was engaged in the process.  She talked about it a lot and asked for Christmas presents which involved learning more about her inquiry.  We think it was very neat that they got to do this inquiry with their big buddies.  It was nice to see her challenging herself and being so interested in learning about her inquiry."
